Engine Bay Stickers

Hi Guys,
Turned out we already have the proofs for the complete set of engne bay decals. They where direct copies form a Raider nut-and-bolt restoration we did. Spot-on replicas, nothing to dispute in terms of authenticity.
Will check exactly what it includes on monday, but the car was put back to OE, so every one should be there...
How many variances are there? ph1/ph2 etc?

Just getting an idea of numbers for when I call up the sticker chap. Im first in!

Um, just checked and I have three on the inside bonnet, have taken pics but can't upload at the moment. The oils one, one about asbestos and one in french which says something about well actually I have no idea. Also there is a small red one on the perc fan housing.

On closer inspection in the light the red one on the perc fan casing just has part number and other info on so that can be discounted.

This is a low res image of the stickers (obviously poor quality), and doesnt represent the quality of the final stickers.
I am getting the spark-plug rocker cover sticker sorted. Found a mint rocker cover with one on. The bronzy coloured one is actually printed onto slightly reflective gold vinyl (the air filter sticker).

I have seen the red sticker on the heater with the part number, do you guys want that too?

At the moment they will come in at £23 per set including postage. That all of the ones in the image, plus the rocker cover sticker - Thats £3.30 per sticker including postage!

With the other 3 that Hoolio has mentioned, it may push it up to £26ish....

Okay I'll take some hi res photo's just in case, the asbestos one hasn't worn too well as it is just a paper sticker, the one in french says something about "this sticker is a guarantee that it is an original part" which is a little odd. The red one on the casing of the anti perc fan I said to disregard as I thought they would all have it and as it's hiding beneath the air feed to the carb I wouldn't have thought ppl would have removed, I'll also need to dismantle to get a photo so won't be until next weekend.

I have shown my old man the stickers you have found.
Apparently the Asbestos sticker was put on many cars, particularly ones that where imported (not saying your is an import :)). It was for the Asbestos in the clutch and brakes. Where was it on your car?
He also said that the renault genuine part sticker wasnt original either, and could be a replacement part. I have just had a look on 4 spare bonnets and on 3 other cars and couldnt find it... is it on your bonnet?
Anybody else able to shed any light?

I think it would be worth getting the heater one done as I it is visible on a few over here. I will peel one off and get it copied.

No probs, both stickers are on the inside of the bonnet. I have previously asked Duncan if he knew if the bonnet had been resprayed coincidentally, it has been removed but that could have been done to work on the engine. I'm now more convinced something has happened to it, I guess most of you guys don't want replacement bonnet stickers then? ;-)

I realise I'm really splitting hairs (and it's not as if i need a set) but I thought the rocker cover sticker was almost a racing green and the red sticker was as red as the red on the oil cap, or shall i just shut up?

No, its good to split hair with this, I need to get it right.
The part number one on the motor is red'er in real life, and has come out a bit orange in the photo.
the spark plug gap one is a pale blue on all the rocker covers here. I have checked 4 of five. But if anyone else has anything different, let me know :)
The location tends to be quite hidden under the boost hose, not far from the bracket that supports it.

In all cases, the stickers have been peeled off so the chap making them can colour match.
I have a very original 5GTturbo here, and hopefully I can photograph all the original locations for the stickers.

Ok guys, I was wrong, again! The sticker on the fan housing is a very red orange and the one on the rocker cover is indeed a light sky blue. I took pics with both my phone and camera but the colour from both was too washed out, its very close to the blue on the cap of the coolant bottle.

Stickers are here. What do you think? They seem excellent in real life. If i was being picky, the blue on the spark plug sticker looks a bit fresh. But that is comparing it to used old ones of course! The colour is right, it just looks 'new'.....unsurprisingly.

I still have some sets left, but can also get more ordered. So supply is not a problem :)

I may do a set for the clio 16v too while im at it.... and the 'williams' side decals.

Anybody wanting the paint colour decal? As seen on the off side strut?
Im doing my factory red (cant remember the name), so will be getting that copied. think red is '705' maybe.
Also have one for the phase 1 electric blue. Im not sure if the electric blue changed?

I thought I'd post pictures anyway, they're not the greatest as I didn't want to move the car out of the garage, huge puddle outside and also I thought my toolbox was there, it wasn't so have had to take pictures without moving hoses etc.
They are all pretty straightforward and tbh I'm not certain that they were all put in the same place on every car but this is where they are on mine.

"Gold airbox sticker" as you can see mine is pretty hidden away, I might have been tempted to put it in a more obvious place.

"Blue spark plug sticker" really hidden away. Along the top of the crank case there is a groove and mine is stuck above this groove at the left hand end of this groove (looking from the rear of the car) with the bottom of the spark plug toward the front of the car.

"Elf turret sticker" This one may be a problem as it is different from the one on the car being slightly larger, a different colour with slightly different typeface which I put down to the early ones(mine is a late model, J reg) maybe being a little different.

Yeah, I have seen the 'elf' turret sticker in a few different shades. Ive seen a very pale one before, but also that dark one too. Thats a bit annoying....

How do everyone elses match up?

Hey Guys.
I need you to check your 'elf' sticker that goes on the turret against your old ones.
I am concerned about the colour blue on the elf badge. How does it compare to any old ones you have?

If the group decides that the blue isnt right, I can get some more made and posted out to the poeple that have already bought them.
I want to get them spot on.
Let me know asap so I can get it sorted.

If anything i prefer the darker blue elf sticker, as the one that is on my car is the lighter blue, saying that though, im not an oe freak! :cooter:

Updated version of the 'elf' strut sticker will be with everyone in the next few days :)
Its a more turquise blue and better copy altogether so worth having.
