Cheers.

5k but I think I'm going to try to up it come renewal, especially as I nearly stuffed it today when an mg came around a corner on my side of the road. See Steve I do drive it ;-)

Mines agreed at £4999, if it was £5k they wanted something like £1200 for the insurance  lucky im only paying £500 for it.

Mine is on a classic insurance with Adrian Flux and they accepted my valuation with pictures. It does have limited use and mileage but was a very reasonable £190

Good to read!! :niceone:

I'm currently in negotiation with my insurers over the value of my Raider. It's currently on an agreed valuation of £3500 but I'm thinking I want to up it to £5000ish like Hoolio but I don't want my policy to triple for the privlidge!

In the meantime, how about a list of insurance companies that do offer agreed valuation policies?

Dale, Steve L, fancy getting the ball rolling for starters, seeing as you guys have commented that you have that type of policy already.

Bigfoot

HIC - 6 photos in total, I believe it was £15 to fill it online or £25 if by post.

Cant remember who mine is with now, ill take a butchers when i get home. But i have an agreed value of £2500 and limited mileage policy of 10,000 per year all for the grand total of £172 a year, with 3 points on my licence.
There are a lot of times i wish i was 20 again, but not when it comes to insuring cars ;)

My current policy is with Flux but they wont up my agreed valuation saying they will only cover me for the price i paid. They wouldnt even offer me a higher premium for my requested value

Anyway, since starting this thread ive been told Footman James are well worth a try so will be speaking to them. They accept cars from 15 years old and specialise in this sort of policy unlike Flux. Will update on my findings in due course.

I personally found Adrian Flux the most expensive and not as comprehensive as footman Jamees

Hence why my car is currently insured with footman James.

Classic Car Insurance - Agreed Valuation - Covered to the teeth:D (windscreen,uk&european breakdown cover etc etc etc) - Limited miles!

They have been very good so far, not the usual insurance nightmare:agree:

Willing to elaborate further if anyone wants more information:agree:

£198 per year (all mods declared: lowered 20mm/dump valve (fitted too benifit the turbo of course:D)/s/s side exit exhuast - I've informed them of this because personally i consider it peace of mind should i end up in a ditch!!

Agreed Value of £3000 (Thought it was more:scratch::devil:) and car is garged every night

£125 excess -Limited to 4500miles per year - 35 days european cover on vehicle plus European Travel Insurance (incl: breakdown!)- £250 audio equip - Personal Accident Benefit up to £2500 incl: Road Rage:mad::devil: - Legal Protection - Certain Medical Expenses....etc etc there is more and a little book full of it.......

Top stuff, cheers :agree:

I'll be sure to give F.J a call come renewal time. If they can offer a multi-car policy as well, that'll be a double bonus for sure.

Cheers for that other one, Kris :agree:

Does Footman James do a multi-car/ncb mirror policy per chance?

I believe they mirror the NCB as I think they did it with my parents classic car and normal car. unless they said they dont count NCB on the classic and just put it on the other car.

Bigfoot
27-10-2009, 08:37
I think Graham Sykes do it aswell mart

Graham Sykes was a top insurance company and very helpful and understood the mods rather than just writing down a list, some insurance companies im always worried they dont understand what your talking about and they dont cover what your car has had done to it.

Just digging up this old thread.

Im going to be insuring my gtt very soon i hope, currently have my daily driver with privilege, they will not do a two car policy, so marts list gives me a good place to start.

I only do 5000 miles a year, im 34, 10 years ncb and garage.

Im looking for a policy that will allow me 2 cars or a mirrored ncb with an agreed valuation on the gtt.

How do i agree this? i have spent at last count nearly 8k building this car, i know its only worth what someone would pay for it maybe 3-4k but if some old lady smashes into me and i get a 3k pay out thats a bit of cash and my time gone. Will they cover my gt for such a large amount or is 5k about the max cover for a gtt?

Also do any of the above have a trackday cover?

Bigfoot

You will have to look at agreed value. Yes they can agree for a lot more, but you need to prove that its worth that amount, normally by photos or somebody inspecting it from the insurance company if you dont agree with the value they think its worth

For mirrored you just need to speak to them to see if they will do this. HIC will and you also gain your NCB as well on the 2nd car. I have done this for 4 years, so I have my 10 years NCB and 4 years on a second car.

Just today sorted mine out for the next year. Sacked Flux in favour of Footman James.

For those that are curious or looking for similar, i agreed,

Fully Comp Classic Policy
3000 miles a year
Guaranteed Value £4,000
Garaged
Aged 32 :mart:

£166

Good to hear Tones! ;)

As per the Footman James thread I renewed my Insurance earlier this week:

£5000 Agreed Value
UK & European Breakdown Assistance
3000 mile yearly limit
Fully Comprehensive
Aged 35

£179.40 :yeah:

I also phoned them up the other day to ask about putting my alternative wheels on the car & they told me that it's no problem to put different wheels on the car at no extra charge as long as they are roadworthy & suitable for the car! ;)
