whilst at sainsburys yesterday i managed to pull my r5 petrol flap off and snap one of the sections that clip onto the hinge, i recon i can glue it for a decent strong fix , however i need to remove the section that it hinges onto. It looks as through it bolts on the inside, do i access this by removing the rear wheel or ??

any help appreciated thanks

Hi, if you glue the flap back on it won't last very long! As for removing the nuts. The easiest way it to drill them out. It is a silly design they put metal nuts in a plastic housing, that then get covered by water and mud. Centre punch and a good set of drill bits!

its a tungy matey, although the bonnet and boot are black so i could possibly get away with a black if needed.

How much would i be looking at mate.

u dont need to remove the fitting.u pull out the spring loaded hinge and twist it .it should stay out for u to reconnect the new flap

:agree:

long nose pliers on the bit that flap clips onto and pull it out. Turn it 45 degrees either way to stop it springing back in.
Mine did this, i glued the flap, refitted it and it's been okay for the last 10 months.
