2009 hasn't been the busiest of years in terms of club events. We have realised that for most people attending 1 or 2 events every month is not a financial option, so have really tried to concentrate on our bigger events like ND and the Pod day. Both of which i thought were awesome days (weather helped) and showed what a cracking little club we have here.
I want 2010 to be different though. I want rtoc to put on a show of force at some different events for the club this year. So to give you all plenty of time to suggest other events as well as prepare/save/arrange holidays etc i thought id get going really early on arranging the events for next year.
Here is what we have in mind (bold text means date and event confirmed)-
-rtoc exclusive track day (book all the places on an open pit lane day)- late March(?)April(?) Snetterton(?)
-Exclusive hire of Santa Pod- Friday 21st May
-Club stand at La Vie en Bleu (French day at Prescott hill climb)- Sunday 30th May
-Club Super5 GT Turbo National Day, Sanglier- 5th June - details coming soon
-Club stand at Bromley motor pagent- 13th June.
-Club stand at Goodwood festival of speed- 2nd-4th July.
-RTOC piss-up in a field (not about the cars, track or strip. Just meet in a field, get pissed and talk ****e, just like a VW meet! LOL)- late July.
-RTOC National Day Mallory Park - weekend of 14th August
-25th Anniversay of the GT Turbo European road trip (details to be released soon)- late Aug'
-Club stand at Goodwood Revival- 17th-19th September- **Edit, no we wont, 'cos it's only pre 1966 car allowed on site for the revival**
-Club stand at Renault World Series- 18th-19th September
-Nurburgring trip (?) - late September (?)
Arrangements are still been made for most of those events, more details to be revealed when i have them.
Are there any other events that you'd like to see RTOC representation at next year? Any of those events above that you think are a bad idea?
If so please post up below and we'll see what we can do

I'm planning on putting something together for a trip to the WSR Le-Mans as & when the 2010 dates get released given the success of the Nurburgring Jolly! ;) Might be worth mentioning that in your list?
We're planning on attending all of these if we can!
Am up for a lot of these, Goodwood sounds good:-) though I'm not sure ill be taking a car to WSR again, nice to show off but it was too much of a scrum.

I was gunna put it in, but Le Mans 2010 is the week after the French ND and the same weekend as Bromley.
Plus i thought 4 euro road trips (french ND, Le Mans, 25th Anniversary and Nurburgring) might be a bit much expense for most.
I have not included the Santa Pod shows and FCS for next year, mainly because i've/we've done them for the last 4 years and tbh, i think they are gash. However if enough people request that we support these events then we will.

I'm on about the World Series Renault France at Le-Mans not the Le-Mans 24hr possibly instead of the trip to the Nurburg one?
It's a long way off at the moment though, but i understand your comments.

Last year it was July 18th - 19th which is right slap bang in the middle of school holdays which would be a bit of a bugger but it would be HOT guaranteed! :cool:

Do you want to do La vie ,Brom etc as a RTOC only stand Stu .I just ask as Stephen has all that side of it sorted so we could bolt on to that ?

How would people feel about our Pod day been the same weekend as Le Vie en Bleu? Our day on the Friday at pod, then upsticks early on Saturday morning for a 62 mile convoy to Prescott?

Some good events there - Prescott is normally the last weekend in May - over the bank holiday...
Do I sniff a challenge at RAOC's dominance in arranging / being at these events??
After the experience of the 'ring will be looking forward to joining you all on a few of these next year!

No fcs & trax in that list? we had plenty of interest for trax this year but no stand??

LeMans, USC, FCS, Trax gets my vote too

We used to always have a club stand at trax, no idea why we never had one last year/this year:confused:
Bromley will be a no go for me really as its miles away from here:(
Trax is usually a good laugh and a decent day out to be honest. Plenty of opportunity to have a natter on a club stand if there was one arranged. :cooter:

We will be running one of our club days at Cadwell at the end of March so maybe get a mob of you along to that?
