I've had my steering rack in pieces several times trying to sort out the tight spots and play in the TAS high ratio kit.

Its not perfect but ten times better than it was and I'd feel happy using it now.

However in the process of disassembling the steering rack I've managed to damage/destroy the small bearing that is pressed onto the end of the pinion gear and into the cast alloy housing.

Without a number for this bearing I'm going to struggle to source one.

So if anybody has a rack sitting about any chance of having a nosy for me and seeing if there is a number on the bearing?

Thanks

Heres the pdf for the Nadella DBF range of bearings.

The DBF Bearing is a caged needle roller bearing with a closed end, this is exatly what ended up getting damaged upon removal from the rack however

However DBF 46750 is not listed in their catalogue, it also sounds far too large 46 would be the inner diameter of the bearing in mm. The pinion appears to have a ~10mm diamter shaft at the bottom.

I'll measure up the rack housing and shaft diameters properly tomorrow and order a bearing in that size.

Just to add some further information for anyone interested the top bearing fitted to my pinion is an ELGES 61804-Y

This is an caged ball bearing but without any seals which has led to getting into the bearing and causing it to become notchy and stuff in places.

I'm going to replace this with a SKF 61804 with rubber seals.

You can get these from here:
