Hi All,
Just in the process of replacing my H/g and might aswell renew some of the bolts (as looking a bit ropey), please can someone tell me the the length and the thread type for the bolts that hold the blanking plate on the cylinder head (opposite end to water pump).
Many Thanks James

Warning!!

DO NOT use stainless steel bolts in an aluminium head, ever. They are dissimilar metals. Put 2 dissimilar metals together and corrosion will occur. Add in an environment that encourages corrosion. (i.e water and heat) and the rate of corrosion will be increased and you'll be in a world of hurt when it comes to removing the bolts.

:agree: However you can't use Aluminium Bolts as they break so aren't you just stuffed no matter what you do?!

Not really, mild steel and ali are not as dissimilar as stainless and ali, or used a coated steel bolt. Or stick a big lump of zinc to the engine block alla phase 1 landrover chassis :D

LOL at ali bolts, is that like a chocolate fire guard? :D
