holding back & smoke then fine :(

Ok just had somthing strange on the way to work.. im sat in slow moving traffic and the car feels like the brakes are stook up slightly and its holding back. I then get on a open road, go for a tiny bit of boost and its still holding and i get 2 puffs of smoke between gears.. a few seconds later all is fine, car no longer holding and no more smoke.

Any ideas, today its very icey but this was after 5 mins or so of driving.

Carb freeze.

had a feeling it could be that, only running standard intercooler etc though, what exactly is carb freeze ?

Possibly fuel evaporation if this happened after sitting in traffic. The perc fan stops this to a certain extent.

Or poss carb freeze/damp in dizzy cap?
