the 5 i`ve just bought is coming with what the owners says is genuine cup suspension taken from a renault 5 cup car. (currently unfitted)

i`ve searched and searched and searched and cant find much useful info.

whats the deal with this setup? i`d like my 5 semi low but still drivable.

and more tot he point, what would be its resale value if i wanted to go the coilover route as the car will be more a dry weather, trailer queen rather than a track slag.

isn't the cup setup inverted dampers on the front or something?

i`ve honestly no idea, he just mentioned in the incredibly ridiculous list of parts it had cup suspension to be fitted (to be honest, most of the stuff is to be fitted :P)

i searched last night and today and couldnt find any great info, and as of yet I havent sen the setup as i dont collect the car until the end of next week.

i`ll fire pics up as soon as i get all the gear home and sorted

Genuine decarbon cup dampers are pretty hard by all accounts. They basically look like std dampers nothing too radical in design & should have decarbon & cup on the strut body.

The springs will only give a little drop over stock rideheight.

Ill check them once I collect the bits.

I'd prefer the car down about 40-60mm max, so maybe best to sell them and get coilovers?

that's cup stuff, you need to show the bottom side on to see if it's PH1 or PH2. I put mine on ebay, only got one bidder (Duncs off here), it didn't fetch any more than the top mounts would have done.

was told it was coming with it but the car has avo suspension already, which is plenty for what i`ll be using it for, so if someone can put them to better use than me :)

i`ll grab more pictures tomorrow :)
