Cup Car photos and Lap times - Dug out today.

Thought I would share some pictures I have found (some are faded from being in the open). I also have loads of Lap times from when the Cup cars where running in the Super coupe cup (in the same spec). Bear in mind that the circuits may have changed a little since the 90's!
Found a French catalogue for the Cup cars, and Group N rally 5's.
Oh, and the classification from the Reunion race at thruxton.

I Owned the 5TS that finished last at the time (It was driven by Maggie who won the 1st ever renault 5 race, she wasnt that fast in 2004 though).

LAP TIMES: (these where championship front runners in winning cars. Ive taken the fastest times from the sheets)
Castle Combe: 1:13.81
Snetterton: 1:25.4
Thruxton: (reunion race) 1:32.3
Silverstone (1.639miles): 1:11.6
Brands Hatch ('98): 55.00
Oulton Park (long): 2:4.65
Cadwell Long: 1:46.33
Silverstone National '97: 1:11.00

On subject of cup cars found this early dont know if its what i think it is it. Looks like Prima racings current 5 hill climb car with 'B-cup' No 7 car that Blot used to own and possible also his new yellow one but i doubt last one but others are a possibilty im sure.I know car the numbers are different but didnt know if one cup car kept a specific number for its racing career. Anyone?

I'm pretty sure I still have my video footage of the race taken from the grandstand somewhere. Was a good meet although Bessie did play up by spitting her plastic bonnet all over the track on the parade laps! :rolleyes:

I was a few cars behind when that happened, gave me a right fright!!! it went about 50 feet up in the air!! The actual race was one ofthe best things ive ever seen though, :)

Ah Thruxton...week 4 of ownership, some bloke called simon north rings claiming to be head of renault motorsport wanting b-cup...yeah right pull the other one...Bob Pope hired it, had the garage next to Perry McCarthy (sold me his autobiog for a fiver- geezer!) all weekend, free food and booze from renault and got a wodge of notes at the end of it.

Just a shame we'd never tried to go flat out in 5th gear before getting there...reckon tony hart nobbled ours to make sure bob smith in the prima car whooped ours :cry:
