A more in depth explanation as to what's happening would help. The fact ''it doesn't work'' means nothing.

I'm taking sides :agree:

Well, I'm taking a side. I'm going to take the left side, and put it on the right side, so then it becomes the wrong side

Any smoke, oil from anywhere?
Is the actuator plumbed up and attached to the wastgate?

Scoff

does the shaft spin freely by hand ? doesn't look bent or catching the housings ? and is the wastegate closing all the way ?

what type of turbo is it ? it's not just laggier than you expect ?

and the turbo i borrow of my mate at the moment is much bigger and is fine

Adam L

If it's not boosting, the wastegate could be open prematurley and bleeding off the exhaust gas before it hits the turbine wheel. You just need to shorten the actuator rod in that case. The penny should be clamped against it's seat firmly

Did the guy at abs turbos have an opinion of what was wrong with the turbo?

breakdown

that the rear blades could be the problem

TrixNFlix
06-10-2009, 21:45
ahh ok, so if you look in the back housing do the blades from the wheel look like the've scraped the sides? if you wiggle the back wheel does it get stuck on the housing sides?

Literally just replied...

Hi

I sold you a working, boosting turbo. It was literally taken off my car the morning I posted it out, it was still warm in the packaging!!!

I have offered to help and have given you advice on what to look at and try etc

Why would I sell something, of whatever value and know it didn't do what it's meant to do ?

I've sold numerous parts, body panels, engine parts, turbos...no one has had any issues and if they did, Ive usually helped them out as much as I could.

I don't know if you've been unfortunate enough to have had it damaged in the post or during any handling. That's something I can't control.

Sounds like a group hug is due :P

If no obvious signs of damage and trying things already asked I would suspect actuator adjustment could be needed ;)
