I've recently seen for sale a pair of coil overs in the classified section that were off an lancer EVO, that were advertised for a 5 GT turbo!
Are these easy to modify to fit? and are there other vehicles I could pinch a set off.. as it would certainly widen my search on ebay :)

here's a pic.. from Winston's classified add (http://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthread.php?t=9496&highlight=coilovers)

I think if you read the ad it said somewhere about being from an evo 3 and adapted to fit a five, with the know how and money anything is possible:)

adaptation is the easy part tbh , the main question is
in what way will the struts from another car be better to use on a
5 gtt etc compared to what you can get off the shelf as in konis ,bilsteins ??

well in terms of handling probably not a lot but you struggle to get a pair of coilovers cheap these days especially for the 5 turbo, so the more options available to me the more likely I am to pick up a pair cheaper :agree:

you can always convert any pair of shocks to coilover setup cheaply
using coilover conversion kits like i did . but a coilover kit made for a
"EVO" ,subaru etc will be quite expensive .
