couldnt find the search function. dunno if site still has it?
how much box oil do i need to fill the old girl up?
also can i run the engine up on mineral oil to get rid of the crap after its been apart?
and then put in some better stuff cheers

Hi,
Gearbox capacity is
3.40 litres (Steel Filler Plug) 2.90 litres (Plastic Filler Plug),
And im sure mineral is fine to get rid of the crap. :)

Mine is on uber cheap 20/50 mineral oil that you used to get fro Kwik Save for £3.49 a gallon. Nothing wrong with it, I use it on everything when I need to bed rings in, then drop the oil after 50 miles.

20/50 is what i use too, i think thats what the halfords red can is??

75w/80 elf tranself trx gearbox oil for me.

Castrol Syntrax.

Then I added FX1. That made the gears slip in very nicely. Guess the Syntrax needed some help?
