Ok then so after walking away from my clio project mid summer due to insurance (quoted £630) i have the urge to start it again and go down the track car route instead!
Wanting to know what boost i can safely run (more than standard), i have a afr so can sort fueling out accordingly not not sure on how mch boost to try. Do i just requier one of these to do it?

Adjusting the actuator arm would save £15
Shorten for more boost, lengthen for less.

:wasntme: How long has CGB been knocking these out for at that price! http://www.cgbmotorsport.net/cgb-in-car-adjustable-boost-controller-783-p.asp
I'm sure I remember seeing these at Halfords for not more than a fiver a few years back. I seem to recall Halfords selling them because I bought one exactly the same for like £30 off ebay when I first got my GTT. Pi55ed off is an understatement
Wow, have you favourited those links too?
There's a few other places that do guages, Think Automotive are fairly good and cheap.

What's wrong with the dash gauges?
If it's a track car, the last thing you'll be doing is keeping an eye on numerous amount of gauges...

was the site i was on at the time. just need to know if i should be going for all mechanical or electrical or one of either, also car hasn't got a temp guage yet! not good on a 5 engine. will be doing a fair bit of 1/4 mileing so just keep a check on it throughout a full day. still need a rough idea of what boost to aim for please

the OE oil pressure gauge is like a narrow band lambda, it shows oil pressure, or no oil pressure lol... may as well just have the 'light of too late'

It is just a standard engine at the min but all stripped out interior. 1100 for insurance is insane! A standard r5 gtt for me came up at 250ish. For 1100 i would be looking to insure a 6.0l v8 monaro or something but thanks for the help :)
