re-spray

does anyone know how much its likely to cost to get a 5 bare shell re-sprayed??all there is is the handbrake to stop it and the steering coloumn held in by 1 bolt!just so as it can b moved!!
would it be worth me sanding down the outside of the car and all the panels to save me some cash or would it b best left to the pros??!!!
i no sod all about bodywork!!! :confused:

preping is the key to a good paint job , and preping costs a lot , if you get it preped your self you half way there , then you need it in primmer , so up to you , if you want a good job or some more advice contact dave sbs he is sh*t hot on spray work:)

preping is snading down/removing old paint then masking up yea?:confused: as long as i dont find any rust dents!!is this dear coz of labour costs??:scratch:
the shell is mint apart from some rust at the bottom of the windscreen.:mad: but iv got a new panel from work so its gunna hav 2 go to a bodyshop at somepoint!!!:cry:!
the bodyshop at work hav quoted me £1400 for a spray and £600 for welding in the panel!!!!this sounds dear 2me for abit of paint!!:eek::sad2: i no there robbing gits anyway!!so thinkin of tryin 2 save some pennies but dont want a cack paint job!!

Mike as per my pm, contact the place i used for metal work. no need for new windscreen surround. he can remake the bit required no corners cut.

Then sell the windscreen pannel and makesome doh back :)

not to bothered bout the panel coz i can giv it back to work;)!!just want the rust gone!!!and the shell sprayed so i can rebuild and get it back on the road!!i can do all of it apart from the rust and the spray!!!!:cry:!!
