First post!

hi there, just about to pay for my full membership shortly when im paid, but until then thought i'd say hello to you all!

im neil, from fife. Work in a bodyshop repairing french and german cars mainly, and some fords (mostly mine come to think of it!) been involved with french cars almost all my life after owning a couple saxo's and mainly ax's since starting driving... but now i have an 06 plate C2 for the daily driver, which leaves me with space for my "other" car.

D-reg Renault 9 Turbo, sitting about mid 40k milage. the car needs a little bit of work to get back on the road and be nice again, so im looking for any advice on where in central scotland to take my 9 to get a wee checkover?

i've heard theres a local specialist near me in fife that does Renaults? does anyone know about this company? think theyre called PCS? and what they are like? never heard anything about them really.

anyways, enough from me, looking forward to paying as a full member and speaking to you all soon,

cheers

Neil

Hi, welcome to the club, good to see somebody trying to bring a renault 9 turbo back on the road.

Take a read of this post about Mike, but if local and you collect and think you wont have any problem there as the only problems have been with him having to post the items out.

thanks for the welcome folks, should be a full member by the end of the week.

i take it theres very very few 9's left in the country that they're pretty rare? i knew i hadnt seen one in years but then i got this one, and the boy didnt know much about the car itself.

will get some pictures taken tomorrow or at the weekend when i collect the car, progress wont be mega until i get rid of my escort, and get my van on the road again for my work, but once thats happened then i'll get cracking.

plans are to keep it as standard as possible, possibly put some extra's here and there but nothing that wont look out of OEM lines. the car looks superb as it is so doesnt need any fancy wheels or different engine setups, it drives fine and should do me well for the times it'll get out!

will read the article when i join up mate, im only about a 5min drive from where theyre based i think. so its easy enough for me to pop over and colllect the parts in person from them.

i dont mind travelling anywhere to get the right parts for my cars... roadtrips are always worth it lol

update on the car - been down to see Mike @ PCS, cars currently sat down there at his yard at present having a full checkover and we're discussing what to do with the car mechanically wise and also replacing a couple panels that im not happy with..... some of the cars he has there are unreal!

fuego's
21 quadra's
a fair few other 9's which are not too shabby either
11's with stupidly low miles!

most of it is a ton of 5 parts, and container after container of spares brand new in the boxes still! just a shame most of it is renault 5 gear on most of them lol.

managed to speak to him about new parts for my 9, and basically opened up a couple containers and chose the parts i want for the car, all brand new still packaged up in the original boxes etc, so these will be making there way onto the car over time.

will be posting up regular progress on this car once it gets shipped up to my work and then will get going on the bodywork once mike has sorted out the mechanical side of things and the targets are set. thinking near standard power maybe a couple changes for the sake of reliablility being a tad bit better.

Welcome mate.

Where bouts in Fife you based? Good to see a rare 9 kicking about.

Mike did all the work on my car, great knowledge of Renault turbos, highly recommended. He's still got my old car in the paint shop.

I'm even thinking of buying it back :D
