since i finished rebuilding my engine and plumbing everything up ready to roll, i have constantly had an issue where i always have to keep the engine cranking on and off for ages until its fires up. once its up and running i also notice when i blip the throttle the revs drop (flatspot) before rising.!

where do i start? i have absolutley no air leaks and have cleaned the carb numerous times!
ive never been one for setting up carbs so it maybe simply that! if it is, it looks like it'll have to be a job for prima racing unless there are any members tat can work some magic on my 5:D

check that the choke flap closes fully as far as cold starting is concerned!

andy, yes possibly! i have a problem with the rod under the carb where it joins to the throttle spindle via a bush, this bush is knackered and i cannot find a small enough replacement bush! any ideas?

micheal, the choke closes fully:agree:

also to add,

ive noticed that the throttle lever on the carb doesnt settle right back down! i have to end up pushing it back down a few mm.
