renault extra!!?

i couldnt find a renault extra 'section' so thought i'd ask here... i fitted 2.0 8 valve into one of my vans 8 yrs ago, i converted it with a carb from gtx.. anyway long story short the carb is ****e and i've never managed to get fueling right... it just seemed easier to go with carb at the time. rather than injection...it still shows 115bhp on the rolling road...

anyhoo... i've found a complete volvo 440 turdo for £100.. so i'm thinking of dropping that in... so i have a few questions about that.. i found fitting guide on this forum ..

i'm curious about these standalone ecu's is it worth fitting one of these as opposed to the original volvo ecu to get more power? the standard 120bhp is a little weak for my liking...

i'd also like to know what intercooler you can use with the volvo engine and what fuel lines... i'm guessing the volvo has fuel pump in the tank??? does this fit in the renault tank or do we use an inline one from bosch or whoever.

i'm also considering v40 t4 conversion.. has anyone done it?? the 440 will be loads cheaper but the t4 is 200bhp standard... if i could get 170 odd with the 440 for half the money i'd be happy!!

The volvo 480 turbo engine is well understated mate, my mate had one modified by BBR and was well capable of racing escort cosworths when he could get traction. BBR fitted a hybrid turbo and gas flowed exhaust system and remapped ecu. The only problems he had with that set up was map sensor limited boost levels and inlet manifold gasket were not up to job but fresh set with some sealant on cured them.:)
