hi folks just fitted a t 28 turbo

expected some lag

i am controlling boost by adjusting the actuator which could be not helping


but im not getting any boost till approx 4.5 - 5k revs then when it does hit im into the red almost straight away


any way of making it boost earlier or ius that just what u get with a turbo that size??????

would a bleed valve help this?

at what rpm do you get full boost?

dont think i have had full boost since fitting turbo, but i change gear at 6k and it would carry on booosting for ages?


if its just lag then i guess i can live with it jusy dont feel im getting the best out of it as it is

more info needed really, but im running a t28/t3 and it is laggy, i usually get full boost around 4k

I really cant see the fun in a laggy turbo for a road car? Ok presuming all is fitted correctly and you have no boost leaks, maybe the turbo just isn't suited? Check the wheel sizes and maybe think about a smaller ex. housing.

can you shed some light on how to check the the wheel size? i know the ex housing stamped on the out side or inside the manifold flange.

you can also try advanceing the timeing to get less lag but watch out for knock and your afr's

What cam are you using? If o.e the engine will run out of revs before that thing starts workiing properly. Is this a journal bearing turbo or ball bearing?

the one on mine came in at 3.5k-4k full at maybe 4.5k-5k (im watching the road) rev'd the standard engine and cam till 7k no problems.. my cam'd lumps in the garage in bits but the standard one did well i thought:smokin:
