for 15 miles.

then it got hot blah blah blah

got it bak to unit wiped of rocker more cream then dairy lee.

rang previous owner, he came down and agreed to give bak 70 pounds to replace gasket bolts ect. fair deal nice bloke

caried on striping so we cud get head skimed today,
and the pistons have received mega detonation. maby due to the kock sencor in the wrong place, from previous owner

question is were does he stand shud he demand money back?
or does he swallow it?

i dont think you can buy a car then take the engine apart etc looking for faults and ask for money back ??
if you only drove it home and now it doesnt work i would take the whole car back and get all the money back

yeah i see wat yr saying. i personaly wudnt swallow it
but after having many of theses cars u kinda expect it

the man was generaly honest

an said he bought it with head gasket failure,

replaced the head as it was realy pitted (it was in the boot of the 5 seriously foooked)

run it for 500 miles head went agen

replaced gaskets ect agen an sold it on

all the wrk was carried out buy a guy from bench sound aparently.

probably didnt help that the head bolts were dun up with a srew driver, they were seriously loose

i hate monkeys

if it was from a dealer then take it back but i think your mate has already done well getting £70 back for new headset, after all buying a car privately is a case of sold as seen imo

that's the way i see unless he got a written agreement at the point of sale stating that he has the right to strip the car and any faults found will be corrected by the seller.

it's not nice to buy a new car and it to break on the way home but i'm sure it's not the first time it has happened with a 5gtt, after all you said yourself, you kinda expect it with these kinda cars
