after running round driving well and boosting well when letting of pedal i get some right popping sounds from back box and my AFR gauge dosent read anything just three straight lines the car also stalls when stopping then when starting again it struggles to idle but drives fine when foot on pedal.:(

Has the mixture screw popped out mate?

sits at an angle on the side of the carb, tiny little screw... or is it missing lol

might be ur exh/inlet gasket!

have you rebuilt the carb latley? maybe worth spending half hour re building it with a kit from the club shop.

It could be an air leak from somewhere, try adjusting the fuel, maybe some crap in the carb...

or as said the gaskets in the manifold, although ... maybe

i rebuilt the carb and it been running good. ive recently installed a AFR gauge and set carb up. the down pipe from turbo elbow came loose and it caused the problem then it was ok since having it on rolling road and reved the bollocks of it it started to do it again so i checked the turbo elbow and its ok.

Sure everything is bolted up tight enough? no chance one of the carb base gaskets is leaking ? hmmm would that make it pop though ...

Have you checked the idle jet?
Maybe it is dirty.

sounds like the car could be over fueling have you changed the size of the jets in the carb mate the popping could be un burnt fuel leaving the exhaust

sounds like a similar problem to mine


just re jetted carb and fitted rebuid kit to carb


now car runs fine but also pops which is over fueling and sounds quite good but dies at idle?



any ideas what ive done wrong too?

sorted my problem now after playing with the mixture screw it runs well and dosent die when idleing itwas over fueling.:)

all fixed it was the idle jet blocked hooray!!!!!!!!!!
