View Full Version : Front Wishbone Bushes
Brought some front wishbones with new powerflex rubbers.
Now the question,
The front wishbones have new metal caps where the powerflex rubbers go through, on the old on these appear to be pressed tight and do not move, do i need to weld the new ones onto the new wishbones or do they say loose.
The old setup had nothing loose so now not sure?
Tried search but could not see what i am asking.
Thanks.
welding would melt the rbber surley... just press out old and press in the new :)

New ones are loose enough you can fit them and turn them by hand, if you take your time and weld a small section at a time you could weld them to the wishbone.
Otherwise they will be loose and the wishbone will move up and down on the outer ring and wear?
they are supposed to be very hard to push into the wishbone... have you got the correct bushes?
Hold on hold on.. the new wishbones you have.. they already have bushes in them? leave the standard ones in and worry about it when you have to change them:)

No the new wishbones do not have any bushes in them at all thats why i was asking?
Really they should have to be pressed in.. and it should be a pain in the fecking arse... its a tad strange they just plopped in.. get a pic or two up.

you need to tack them in
you need to tack them in
So tack them all the way round and take my time so its not too hot for the bushes, would you go all the way round?

slide the bush out.
You only need 3 tacks to stop it moving.
