Just been reading this :coffee:

http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=39017

Doesnt read well and looks like they are lining up Flavio. A difficult decision for Pat Symonds to make.

Could it really be true? :dearme:

I don't understand that though. Have you read the transcript? It doesn't seem like they were deliberately making him crash, just they were making Nelson push too hard..?

The team principles have fallen on their swords and Renault are not going to contest ... obviously some fire there .

Oh right.. you mean like how Mclaren lied, and then was proven wrong when stewards looked into the radio conversation earlier this season causing Ron Dennis to step down? No.. nothing like that ever happens. :sad2:

slight difference to...''hit the wall next lap''

''crash time''

''end it''

''crash or ile sack you''

Im just guessing any of those would have worked:sad2:

Well they have both quit now ,so what will happen to Renault ? This season and next maybe Renault will finish completly ? ? F1 has had some stick over the years

Having worked for an f1 team for some years they have drivers briefings where every single event that could happen is spoken about and yes it could have been planned in that briefing simple as, as for radio message they use all sorts of code words and numbers as other teams listen to the radio, what you hear on TV is just a patch on what gets really said, also with telemetry they can message the steering wheel as well.

Not the first time things like this have happened, even drivers try to cheat off there own backs, remember Michael Sch. trying to ram cars off the track to win the title then claim it was a driver error, this thing has gone on before people.

The only ones i feel for are the boys in the pits and at the factory the ones that do the long days and nights to put these cars on the track, i hope for them that Renault do not call it a day due to this.

Drivers move on easier then staff.

:agree:

Still can't believe Piquet is effectively walking away scott free from this.

True, he would be lucky to get a test drivers seat!!

Funny how Bravio still has a 20% share in him tho...

Andy, I'd have taken his racing license from him, he is just as guilty as Briatore and Symonds.

I still can not quite believe how the FIA have handled this. You can't give someone complete immunity to something they had control over themselves even if they were under pressure from all angles if you will.

Ridiculous.

It is a suspended sentence. So they will be suspended for 2 years on their next breach of the regulations.

Look at the bigger picture they don,t want a major team such as Renault out of F1 so a slap on the wrist and get rid of a few poeple who will get boardroom jobs on major saleries as consultants somewhere:)
