I have to buy a new set of tyres for my GTT.
I'm runnig on 15" wheels.
I'd like to use them on track and on road. (I need road legal)
I have seen Toyo R888 but it is only available in 195/50 15 which seems to be big.
Currently I'm runnig on 195/45 Pirelli P7 but I do not like it.
What do you suggest?

Take a look at Toyo T1-Rs they are great on my renault 19 in the dry and wet. Will be replacing my set on the 5 with these once they are worn through.

Same size its about half the price. Last time I got 195 50 15s they were about £31 delivered each. However the 195 45 15s were over £40 each. r888s can be found for £67 each then if paid by debit you get 3% off that as well. Tempted to pick up a set.

And how much is the grip difference between them? Does the r888 worth its prise?

When I have fitted /50 on my car the rear wheels have reached the bumper on a bumpy road.

From only being a passenger in a car with 888s I found the grip was miles better but that was just on a track, depends on what you use the car for really. As if you just use it for normal road use most of the time you are going to go through the tires rather quickily and they are not the best to use if the weather is bad especially coming up to winter. Maybe as a summer tyre for a bit of fun on the road if you can afford it.

Thanks!

I use it as a 2nd car. Just for fun. And mainly in good weather.
