You're going to have to tax it from the beginning of sept, they won't let you tax it from Oct & use it now.

If the police ANPR system sees you they'll tug you & say your car isn't taxed.... :crap:

But if u buy it now the DVLA can refund u the X amount of days... if you can be bothered to go through system for about £8.

ok i am a little fcukared here :crap:

i got mot certificate , the car is insured from today onwards as can
be confirmed on http://www.askmid.com/

however my insurance docs have not arrived yet ,i have just been on the
phone to post office and they are telling me without the insurance
docs the wont sell me a tax disc and she strictly insists i can not drive the
car without a tax disc even if i tax it today online or on the phone as it will
take 5 working days for the disc to arrive even though i want to tax it from
SEPTEMBER !!

any truth in this ?? i need solid answers cause i dont like being
stopped by the cops and make a **** of myself for something i god damm paid for

You need to display a tax disk for it to be legal, have you asked the insurance company to email you over a copy of the forum or fax one through? think that is still possible. I got my documents emailed to me.

You should have got insured with Swift. Everything is internet based, and you can download your documents there and then, rather than wait for them in the post.. :crap:

tax it online, display an old tax disk, as soon as you do it online its updated and if you get tugged the copper can check everything on the radio down to what cover of insurance you have and whos a named driver on the policy, once youve paid for it online you are technically taxed

Are you friendly with any local garages ? or anyone with trade insurance ? When I was stuck buying tax for the new car I borrowed the garages trade insurance cover note and bought tax with that, it'll let you buy tax for anything.

that would be a bit too much of a hassle to be honest mate .
i hardly go to garages around here .
anyway i have been driving around since i bought the tax online now
even have a posh reference number for it :p

still got tracking to be done (booked for 16:00) than fit the side skirts
in the quickest way possible , wash the car ,fill the fuel tank ,take the dog out to the park in the beast , feed and fiddle with the hamster and genie pig ,than a rather
late lunch and i should be pretty much ready :scared:
