hi , im sure i read on here not so long ago someone had brought body kit rivets for the side skirts from vauxhal. Renaults price are stupid and i remember someone saying they were half the price of renault dealers. I have searched but cant find anything..
thanks matt
when you say rivets you just mean the things you use with a rivet gun.. in that case halfords ones will do the trick.
If you mean the clips that sit on the sills ask cgb bob as for the side skirt repair kit.
do you need a specific type of rivet gun for these rivets:confused: just that ive got a gun with a few attachments but there all too small for the side skirt rivets.
also, do halfords sell these rivets seperatly?[without the gun]
what size are these rivets?
:agree:id have to look in my stores... but yes they do sell them seperate. They work ive used them a few times. :agree:

these are'nt normal rivets.
when rivetted into the sill, they leave a few mm sticking out for the side skirt clip to hook onto

the body kit rivets are specific to the body kit and have a raised peg attached to the rivet so no anyold rivet will do im afraid ;) i think i read somewhere about vauxhall doing the same clips at a cheaper price
i dont get it... aint a rivet just a riet.. pops into a gun and bang its done... i stand corrected.. but explain a bit more please :)

it rivets in the same way but it has a collar that tightens against the sill, that fixes itself and makes it solid.
then there is an extra few mm that stick out, that the side skirt clips slot into
yes mate but a normal rivet, say a mush head will leave a mushroom head on the sill, likewise a csk rivet will sit flush with the sill, the skirt clips cannot be attached to these
The side skirt rivets have an extra "tit" :D on the head so that once the rivet is rivited, you have something for the side skirt clip to "clip" onto
Hard to explain :crap:

worth asking stu thc about the vauxhall items, they are identical...but a fraction of the price...sure renault ask about £30 quid for the set
pete where are the rivets in that pic i see non just the clips...
And kris.. cgb does a repair kit, and it works, some bonding agent to glue them on after grinding back the original clip. :)
cheers, yeah ive seen the repair kits, nice to hear they do work..always been abit sceptical about gluing stuff like that:agree:

Its the rivets holding the clips on JRP, they hang off the extra "tit" left on the rivet
ohhh those things 6 each side like welded on things???
I was talking about the things that hold the bottom of side skirt to sill i rivet them on.... ohhh im lost

A picture of the rivets that might be helpful. They were about £3 + each I believe.
But did'nt someone mention that Vauxhall do an equivalent for cheaper?

there the buggers im after:agree: but £3 each:sad2: who was it that purchased these from vauxhall.? we need part numbers:cry:
renault charge £46 for 10 as i tried to get them the otehr day. Peugetot 205's have the same rivits for holding the door trim on so maybe give peugeot a call :)
