2l 16v turbo diesel vectra

Got a problem with a my sisters 2l 16v turbo diesel vectra 1998 Reg it just cut out and now it just turns over but does not fire I took a pipe of the high pressure pump and it is pumping diesel ? Any ideas what else it could be ? Thanks matt

there should be a solenoid on the pump,check it for voltage

enigine management light isnt on is it? I run one of these as my work horse but only time ive had this was when the plug came loose on the key transponder behind the colum cover.

yep it is on mate ?? should i take the cover off the cowl ?? where am i looking about thanks matt:)

The transponder is just behind the cover round the ignition barrel. May not be the fault but worth a look. From memory the plug is blue?

i hope it is mate , just wana get it running ,could do with a code reader as the engine managerment is on , and it would tell me the code will let you know tomoz thanks matt:)

I was in same boat as my snap on scanner wont read the 2.0 16v diesel lump!!:(

Well plugged in the scanner tonite still no joy and the error said


P1630 injection timing control circuit malfuction *wiring circuit open or short to pos*

Can any 1 help me on this thanks matt
