Hi guys my 5 is going this week and a guy from scotland to manchester to collect it, the only problem is the carb is set up and i have advised him not to drive the car back in fear of breaking it.
He said he is going to get aa cover and get them to assist him home.
Whats any problems with that? what mod can you do that they wnt be able to fix?
Obv feel free to pm me.
Also told him to join up when he gets it ;)

take the blanking plate off the end of the cylinder head then just put it back on finger tight so it leaks:coffee:

Mr AA man will just assume the head gaskets gone!

Turn the boost down to a conservative level, i cant see it falling to bits at low boost.

Why not just make sure its running ok for his drive home... set it up so it sounds and runs smooth,

Feck aa just sell it and let him RESPONSIBLY drive it home.

I cant imagine any AA man wanting to do anything on a 5 GT? but as already mentioned run it at std boost a drive sensible and he shouldnt have a problem.

Cheers for that guys, well i mentioned he could do that, but then again i also remembered a petrol breather problem only allowing £10 worth of fuel in. Doh
So may opt for 'pretend blown gasket' option.
