I would pay that much, if its on your list of things to do to get mint/OE etc you have to spend the £££'s....

I am lucky the cup car gear knob is pretty mint & i will put that in my white 5.

lol, true true, I went a bit mental on my first ever ebay bid, it was more like a competition to win than anything else, ALL i could think of was " I'm not going to let this barstewered beat me" and got carried away, I ended up paying £50 odd quid on some interior foam that covers the inner boot arches. LOL. :scared::sad2: what a plonker!

I'm into old Kawasaki triple motorbikes, and to their credit, Kawasaki have re run some of the niggly, hard to get parts because these bikes are seen as classics........

And I guess it looks good on them than 30+ year old bikes made by them are still on the road, looking pristine.....

What I'm saying is, surely Renault could do a limited run of gear knobs and similar trim parts that break/wear out?..............Couldn't they?

Or what about a company producing pattern copies of these things?......I reckon every 5 owner would love a new looking gearknob...

Renault have only just sold out of gear knobs, which isn't bad when you think that the last gtt's were made 20 odd years ago! It's quite surprising just how many gtt parts you can still get from Renault. I'd love to know how many other 20 year old cars you can still get that many parts for from the main dealer!

True mate, and good on them for still producing parts.
How much would a nos gearknob have been from Renault before they sold out?.....I'm on a mission now, got to have one!........mine keeps coming off in my hand!........

Least of my worries really, seeing as it's engine is on the garage floor as I write this!....but I'd like it to be really nice when I finally get to have a drive in it.

I bought a boot lock for my Series 1 RS Turbo Escort from the main dealers a couple of years ago, which was surprising, but I bet I couldn't do it now!

I don't think theres ever been a part I can't get at our Renault, but whoever they use to make up the moulds for the bodykit are ****e, I've recently bought the whole kit and spoiler, and they've got so much waveyness u get sea Sick looking along, I've painted them twice because first time they looked Crapola, then filled and 2k primed them and painted them again, alot of fannying about considering they cost me about £50-£75 quid each!

Most stuff is like that these days, if you think o.e stuff is bad have a look at some of the patterned ****e available.

If I remember correctly the last one I got from Renault about a year ago was around the £18 mark. Also there was another not so long ago on Ebay that went for about £80. So I guess this is the kind of money you would now expect to pay for one.

I've got a brand new gear knob in my garage as well. I paid £11 for it a few years ago. I was planning on buying a few more, and I wish I did when I see what they go for now

I tried a contact in France to get me the gearknob and even there you cant get it! :( Im still in need of one as is everybody else probably....Ah well, the search continues. And I agree with Penfold, if its a part that's on your to do list then so be it....I'd pay it too :) Just think of the end result and the return you'd get from it..:)
