Everyone in the saxo world i used to know would use omex and have heard nothing but good things tbh. I do know of someone else that use DTA unsure how he got on with it in the end to be honest with you.

DTA is much better all round, although software wise a little annoying to use. Ofcourse, you really want an Adaptronic :)

I use a DTA E48 on mine, its spot on for what I want. However doesnt have all the bells and whistles that the adaptronic has... Only proble that i found with my old Omex was the resolution of the map... Whats up with your DTA?

Have you spoken to DTA for a resolution? It's in their interest to help you out as a lot of ECUs are sold on recommendation.

well the ecu i bought second hand from a tuner i know realy well called collin at atspeed racing,

he was using it in his mega powered 106 gti. before i bought it, he sent it off for a helth check to dta.

it came back clean with no faults found an he was charged for the check.

i piked it up from him in the box it was returned in with the print out and receipt.
its bin sat in my garage for a month whilst i prepped the car an made the new loom.

had jim from track and road cum round my house to input sum figures and to generlay get her idleing so i cud bleed water system check oil pressure ect.

whilst he was on the lap top the air temp and water temp was spaking out, fliking from 1 reading to anover.

the words used by mr greenald were its fuked lol

but in reality the ecu itself is throwing 5 volts to ground intermitently.

its not the loom or the sencors that are playing around just the ecu.

an it will only do it wen the ecu is powered up

wats adaptronic, i recall mr picture doest realy like mapping it tho

what type of DTA ECU is it?

From what I remember the air temp and water temp and the TPS all use the same 5v feed on the E48. Are you getting strange readings from the throttle pot aswell?

I would think its a problem with your wiring rather than the ECU if its had a full health check by DTA.

If you want you can send it to me and I'll plug it into my 5 and see if it runs ok on my setup! If its an E48 that is.

5V intermittently dropping to ground sounds more like a wiring/sensor problem than ECU to me, if it was continuous 0V with nothing plugged in it would be a different matter.

Does it do it with all the sensors unplugged? If so the next check is with the loom unplugged and the ECU powered on a bench.

rite had a fone call today from dta, the ecu itself is fine.

mr cooke u was rite, acording to the diagnostic from the ecu it was a sencor fault. air temp to be precise.

so on order is a new;
air temp sencor
water temp sencor
crank sencor
and tps

with a new profesionaly made loom made to measure.

going stand alone is costing me a fortune.

and i still havnt had my exhaust manifold with external take off made yet

my bro had DTA on his c20xe corsa, jamsport knew how to map it really well, but the only problem he had was one day he was driving and it cut out, and something caused the ECU to be wiped, so he had to get it completely remapped as we didn't have a copy of the map and neither did the place that did it :dearme:
