JRP has got one not fitted it yet as his car is no where near ready to be on the road yet.
The phrase welded by a chinese blind man springs to mind, nothing like the quality of a weld you would see from say, Pace, Radtec, pro-alloy. But that's not to say it's not a good rad as it is a fair bit bigger than OE. Would be good to hear from someone who has actually been using one on there car for some time.

I haven't tried one yet but might be reluctant too after the problems with the silicone hose's they made.

Pretty sure member sonic jdm has fitted this rad on his project matt black track gtt
Ive got one fitted had no problems, temp stays spot on just below half way most the time, welding is a bit poor tho.

Probabley looks better than an o.e rad but does it work better? Ive had a about three or four diffrent rads and I can say they all pretty much work the same.

What issues did you have with the silicone hoses? I found the boost hoses were way to small in diameter, and a pain in the arse to get on the carb lobster. It was such a tight fit, you could probably run it without jubilee clips without fear of it popping off :crap:
On the add is says that 16 have been sold. Im not sure about ordering from China!

I've fitted a set myself, the hose's aren't all the correct size (some too long so need cutting down) plus the bleed nipples were leaking. I believe a few people on here have had same problem with nipples too, had new seals fitted to them again

got it ,, fast postage it only took 4 or 5 days inc a weekend , packaged well , looks ok and straight.
Only thing is the fan switch plug seal has split, looks like there is a bit missing cant see it inside the rad though :)
What do you think of the welding not bad for £99 and free p&p (im no expert).
the test will come when i fit it when i get my new hoses through

Standard radiator would have been just as good mate, i've personally satyed away from Copper core ones as had alot of problems with them.
Charge coolers the way forward, hmmm not sure mate:D;)

whats happend to them mate with you?
whats your thourghts on a charge coolers do u not rate them ? iv all ways been told they are inportant when running a bit of power and they can give you up to an extra 20 bhp at least or is this not the case

After time they block up, crack around the top near the top hose.
I personally like intercoolers, there's been lots of debates on here on the old 'intercooler v's charge cooler' question. Why just a charge cooler to run more power, intercoolers work just as well too sometimes even better.
It giving an extra 20bhp is pub bs talk, its all about how effeicent it is cooling the inlet charge.

cheers for your thoughts mate i'll see how it goes for a bit. dont drive my car much but i no what u mean, the old copper one was well dirty
can you get a standard alloy one with the oil cooler in it or do you think you could get one made to order?
as for charge coolers i might get a good pace alloy intercooler, i have an alloy one but not sure were it's from.

all fitted now , no leaks , fits in the holes at the bottom perfectly ,,
only thing is a bit of paint is coming off on the top , for some reason looks like they have sprayed the top with silver paint ??
still i like the way it looks ,i think they look better than the black ones :)

Ill be buying a kung fui alloy rad for the civic from £70 which is prob made in china and im sure it will be ok, i have no faith in the copy OE style ebay one for around the same price as they seem to leak on the end caps.. I mean look at all these cheapo alloy coolers we run??? mine was brand new for £80 and at over 30psi its fine so i guess a one peace alloy rad will be good too.... :)

plus for piece of mind they have a warranty so even if it was not as expected you could allways get a refund :).
allthough you may have to pay for return postage to china :(
has anyone weighed these rads to see if they are lighter than the standard rad ?:p
Junglist
27-10-2009, 19:38
should have before i fitted it , i gave them both a lift at the same time and the new alloy felt lighter but then there was some coolant still in the old rad.
