If your going to be running that sort of boost make sure your fueling is adjusted to suit otherwise you will be replacing engine parts fairly soon.

Yeah for 1k revs then change gear. Most people who go for the larger turbo suggest the piper 285 but there are a lot of cams out there to choose from. Might be worth looking at catcams to find one suitable for you. It will help the turbo kick in earlier but still going to be laggy if you running a full T28

Spooky
04-09-2009, 11:16
standard cam + t28 + 20psi = :burnrubber::D

mines usually around this mark...long distance runs 18lbs...around town 20lbs.

doesnt look like much of a difference but there is when it comes to fuelling :)

i think i will try it with the standard cam as already buying coilovers too all getting a bit expensive and see how she goes

only use her for fun so not like i have to drive it on long boring journeys to work or anything

prob change the cam when ive blown the head gasket lol

Bigfoot

0-60?????????

Now that depends on loads of factors, how good your tyres are, how good the road surface is, how good your gear changes, what revs does the turbo cut in. You will never know. Standard is 7.2 secs so more than likely faster than that.

Ricardo had mine dyno'd at 18psi, it made approx 180bhp/lbft I believe.

Ive modded the carb somewhat since and she feels very quick. I doubt I'm making 200 ponies but I must be close at 20psi.

Need to do a sqm run or 5...:cooter:...

Ive done a low 5 on sticky tyres, mid to late 5's on road rubber depending on conditions.

spooky has urs got any other mods than the list ive got for mine,

not that i wanna copy or anything but sounds fooking fast!!

Spooky
04-09-2009, 11:57
ive got a fmic, probably not the most efficent and a side exit exhaust.

other than that id say identical lol

ive had my car for a number of years and its been set up for the way i want it to drive.

i would suggest doing the mods in stages so you can understand whats happening more.

fuelling for 18psi is straight forward and everything youve listed is more than man enough for the job :agree:

I dont get it when people mention lag with a T28,as you say dont pull away in third. All about keeping it in the power, rev it harder:devil:
