Hello from a frog in South of France
Dear all,
I joined RTOC few weeks ago and never got time to introduce myself.
I had 6 R5 GT Turbo (were all in France, it was cheaper before to acquire one like 10 years ago, I also bought one crashed in uk for spares and the uprated engine which is currently in mine) even had an EBS convertible, see pic when I owned it (That I had to sell, lack of space when my dad passed away)
I only kept mine as I spend so much energy, cash and elbow oil on it.
Then I found few months ago a R5 Turbo2 (it was a starting project car which was sitting in a garage for 7 years) that I want to restore to almost original.
I might sell MAXI5 rear wings, spoilers and engine and TDC gearbox (I'll put and ad later)
I'm currently restoring it in France (sadly rare sports cars are easier to find in their original country) and things are a bit different too: the 5 turbo's conception are more dedicated to competition as it's easy peezy to remove engine and gearbox compared to the GTT.
I'm at the point when I will put the new engine next month (if my machining guy finished the modification for cams) and original ratio gearbox.
I might create a thread about its restoration and add pics.
When it'll be finished I'll have a secure garage back in London, I might bring it back and go to ACE coffee some times as I live not far from it.
Wish you all a nice week, I send you some sun from South of France.Attachment 30312

Thx a lot for welcoming me Matt,
I'll put a pic of my GTT next week ( size is too heavy), and maybe start a thread on the Turbo2 as well, with pics.
Yes the convertible was very lovely, it was the first time I saw the Turbo gauge and the blue sky in the same time while the sun was hitting on my head ;)
here's another pic from the rear Attachment 30313
