yeah my 5 was on classic insurance with adrian flux limited miles same yr as yours :agree:
a few years ago i was told by an insurance company that you needed to be 25 to qualify for classic insurance, dont know if its changed in the last few years tho
I think a few places seem them as modern classics, these, rs turbos, cossies etc are all less than 25 years but are all classics in some peoples eyes. Hic do the 5 as a classic, think I've paid under 300 before with limited miles.
guess you mean driver has to be over 25??
damn gf insures it and shes only 23, its £750 with flux she has 2yrs no claims. good or bad?
footman james can give online classic quotes..........sweet...............
http://www.footmanjames.co.uk/
just quoted 113£ fully comp
i was under 25 and had my 5 on classic policy with limited miles with hic in west london region so its generally high cost policies but i paid under £300 last year.
New poster! (less than 10 posts)
just bought a r5 got insurnce quote through adrian flux £1900 joys of being age 20 and apprentice mechanic :)
its all about the specialist policies / looking around
Im 21, with 1 years NCB, Insured with Graham Sykes, TPFT, All mods declared, cage, wheels, suspention, sidey, engine bits etc etc. 4000 miles limited, breakdown cover
I pay just over £450
i've just got adrian flux down to £230 tpft (actually my fiance did) with her on it, they originally quoted £360, but they garunteed to beat any quote and performance direct quoted £250, 3 years no claims as my second car, i am 26 though, loving it :D
Guys, please check out this thread regarding Footman James :agree:

It says to mention your membership number, I wasn't aware we still done membership numbers? I still have my one from old site but just thinking about new members.
Ooops sorry, membership name - I'll edit that.
im with hic on the vag 5 on a classic car policy.. thats on 89 yr paying between 5-6 hundred, thing with classic car policys tho you dont earn any no claims or so they said:crap:
After reading up on this thread and others i decided to give Footman James a call....
...and man was I happy!
Im 29, 5 years + no claims, garaged, 4500 miles a year cap package, with 3 points for speeding. Standard 5GTT with 57000 on the clock valued at 2500.00
Came in at 220.00 or something and they let you pay in three instalments at like 2% interest, so it cost me like a fiver to change to instalments. Compared to ridiculous quotes at 1000's from other places this was a dream.
And Im pretty sure he said £50 excess?! Which seems low so Im going to double check but all sounds very good.
Anyway, over the moon. Now with a little help form some of the Scottish boys I should see you all in a week!
Off topic, but weren't you selling yours a while bak? Looks like you didn't anyway.. Good stuff!
I paid £460 at 21 on a classic policy with Peter James insurance. They needed a membership number to prove I'm part of an owners club though, so I gave him my old number. Not sure we use membership numbers these days?
Yeah I was selling it but THANKFULLY managed to hold on to it through some rough times! Plus I was down WAY lower than I wanted for it so happy no one bought it! :)
Now the race is on to get it ready for this weekend! (brake regulator needs changed, breaks need bled and an MOT is needed etc etc)
