Following on from this thread (https://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthread.php?p=25084#post25084) I decided to try and get you guys a discount and we have been offered a spanking deal on the full hose kits:D

He has offered that if we can get 10 people to order the full kits, we can have the below prices. Normally with delivery they are dead on £200 just for the set of 15 hoses, nice saving there! :agree:

I have haggled a bit and he has offered the below (as of 05/12/08), let me know which option you want:

15 piece hose kit £143 (if you want these in blue you might aswell get them from UnstableCable as they are cheaper)

Boost hoses only £45

15 piece hose kit + boost hoses £176

He can do them in all colours but as in the first post, some colours will take an additional week as are made to order. These are all delivered prices.

I need a new list please, name/order/colour

What we have arranged between us is for me to get a list of who definitely wants which colour. Once we have 10 names I’ll then pass you all on his paypal address along with the text that you must enter when paying him so he knows who you are.

I don’t want to mess this guy about, he’s been very generous and we could potentially get further discounts with him in future.

Please also be aware that as they are coming from China you may be charged with import taxes depending on how nice your local post office is, we cannot accept liability for that as you have been made aware.

Just that I get paid on the 21st, but I genuinely want a set in blue.

Regarding the boost hoses, he said if someone can send him what is needed they will replicate them, can anyone help with this? I don't mind covering the postage to China out of my own pocket if needed.

I have 2, uncut standard boost hoses.. Will I get any compensation if they are lost / damaged?

Just been in touch with him and they said all costs will be covered for loss/damage, he has just asked for them not to be sent to him via Airmail as its unreliable. They receive samples in every day from around the world successfully.

Imagine it'll be a hell of a lot cheaper than that, seeing as they sell 15 hoses for £150. Have you got a pics of them by any chance, I'll see it he can quote from sight for us?

Would you prefer them with or without the dump valve take offs, how do Samco make them?

You can buy them from Samco with or without take off's I think.

Personally, I wouldn't want a dump valve take off. I'm not a chav :p.

If some people do want the D.V take off, I have a samco hose which has one on.
I could get that to BriC so they could be posted together, and that also gives two options! :agree:

Need to know really if people want the take-off on or not, shall I see if he can make both up and send me samples?

Bric, if the sizing and shape is very clear in the pic then that'll do, seperate hoses would be easier though :)

if its any help, ive got 2 different main boost hoses. im defo not going to be sending them anywhere but would be happy to snap some pics if that would help in some way?

• ive got a phase1 main boost hose, its a straight through hose with no perc fan take off and obviously no dump valve take off.

• the other is a phase2 main boost hose with percfan take off.

Jermaine, they are the exact same hoses, same make etc :) If any of you want them in the colours that Dan can supply then go for it, it's a big old saving on something already so cheap!

I'm just finding out from Dan now if he can get hold of other colours. If he cant then I don't mind still working on getting those for you. Just let me know :)

He is awaitng delivery for blue, according to an earlier post.

UnstableCable can supply the red hoses and will be getting the sets of 15 in blue in roughly 5 weeks time. He won't be supplying other parts/colours other than red/blue. Contact him via PM if needed :agree:

Well, it's not being subsidised by the club is it? It's just cheaper due to more people buying? I know that you put your time into arranging the group buy, which is mucho appreciated, but there doesn't seem to be any more interest, so wouldn't some outsiders be good to help get the deal done?

im just transfering the funds now but im having difficulty deciding on the colour, most of my interior is red but i think red is quite common in the engine bay and was thinking of going orange, any thoughts from the experts :)

I'm going for Black, because they are different.. Most people have them in Blue and, like you say, Red.

Orange could be interesting, but maybe too many colours on one car? Personally, I'd get black hoses :)

Errr a spot of over shopping with RTOC members has silently been undermining my funds i have to transfer some funds but as i'm reading this and see all this wednesday stuff i wanna do it right now but is it too late?? Please help:confused:

TBH mate, I've never really had a good look at Samco's, but the finish is good, and they're all a good consistent thickness.

They compare every well to the more expensive makes i reckon, have been using the turbo water pipes for a while now and they are no different to my SFS ones really :)

Got back from Disney land last night and my hoses were waiting for me.
They turned up tuesday, and look very good :)

Oh, do I need a springy thing in the bottom rad hose?

I've taken a few close up shots of the hoses. I've put them next to a Samco boost hose and they look pretty much the same.

I'm very happy with how quickly they came. I was expecting to wait at least 2 weeks. I'll be fitting them at the weekend hopefuly so I'll see how well they hold up :)

I've been through and labled up all the hoses in the kit so it'll be easy-peasy swapping everything over and got a nice surprise.

To tell the honest truth I have always removed the thermostats during the summer months on all my other 5's anyway....I think with this one I couldn't find the stat when I was fitting the samco's but all the same doesn't seem to have ever given me any trouble.....More alarmingly as you now have me thinking is this a bad thing????

Your coolant isn't supposed to be too cold, because you risk cracking the cylinder head (due to differences in temperatures on a hot engine with cold water pumping round) and running without a thermostat does keep the coolant quite cold.

I finaly got around to fitting my hoses. They're not all on yet as I've got the carb and manifolds off but I took a piccy so you can see they do fit :laugh:
Although I had to trim about an inch off the bottom rad hose as it was too long and kinked up, but measure and trial fit your's befor you start chopping them down.

My hoses arrived today in orange! took one week so very impressed, I can get some pics up for people if they want to see but I assume they are the same as the other hoses bar the colour.

i received mine boost hoses in the same box as the rest

recieved my 2 boost hoses today, funny enough, when i got home from work they were there. Gota say , they are not as good as the others and seem a little thin where the weave is actually showing through the silicon. Will do the job though i think :)

ive been looking at the coolant set of 3 hoses.
by this fella cant afford the whole 15 hoses so just want the 3 coolant 1s for now costing 65£

Received my boost hoses yesterday - once again, very happy with them. Certainly cannot complain when they cost so little in comparison to Samco's.

I finally finished my car today and filled the coolant up. The bleed nipples were pretty lose and leaked at first so you might need to tighten them up before you fit your's.

Received my 15 hoses + 2 boost hoses today and have to say i'm pleased with the quality. Unfortunately i'm going to be away with work for the whole month so won't be able to fit them until April:(

I'll report back when i'm done.

I thought I'd tightened mine but the pump to swirl one still leaked. I had to get grips and a 13mm spanner on it.

well am not impressed by these hoses at all.
fitted the top 2 coolant 1s with the bleed nipples.
even with brand new jubales and as tight as they would go water.
still managed to get past its becasue ive noticed.
they aint a snug fit i mean its like putting ur finger in a bucket the diasmater is all wrong.
so am gona email him see what he says.
its a pain cos i really need the top 1

They do offer 12 months warranty according to their ebay store, but you'd have to send them back to china..........perhaps not worth the paper its written on - if you get my drift!

I know Scratcher had his water hose bleed nipples sorted out by sfs, due to leaking - if i'm not mistaken?!

But certainly wasn't aware of any splitting???????????

Id also like to know of any problems people have had with the hoses if any? as i might get myself a set..

Mine leaked from the bleed nipples due to the holes being punched to big in the silicone.
One split slightly when attaching to the bottom of the header tank. Hose that goes from bottom of rad to water pump is too long and so puts a kink in it, restricting water flow. :D

Had no trouble with the bleed nipples on mine, the bottom rad hose was too long but and quick slice with a stanley knife sorted that, otherwise can't fault em, I've even bought a new oil breather set and telephone hose from ASI

How much does this company let these go for? ...I pm'd Unstablecable about the blue hoses before (pm'd just there incase) said he didnt have any the last time i pm'd him.

Im after a set before saturday in blue :)

Not got a hope in hell of getting before saturday - they have to come from china!!!!!

Mine took about 3weeks............

i had the same problem with the bleed nipple leaking, also the water pipe that goes onto the top of the turbo split on the bend, other than that they look ok, i could do with the water pipe that goes to the turbo but no one does single black silicone hoses!! so got one o/e one

I've only just seen this topic was up again.

The hoses I got leaked very badly from both bleed nipples. I took them into SFS who compared it to their old style hoses with the same type of nipple. There should be a washer between the plys in the hose (a solif bit for the nipple to seal against) but ASI hadn't put it in so I just got the SFS ones with the new style nipples.

I contacted ASI a few times about the problem and never had a reply. I didn't worry too much since the other hoses were all good and the price was so cheap.
I managed to cram some silicone sealant around them and they do seal now, but I've only kept them as spares.

Oh, also... about 67% of the hoses came too long and needed trimming. Mostly the rad hoses.

Ive been having problems with my top rad hose ..it was pissing badly under where the bleed nipple is ... ive replaced it with my standard hose at the mo ..does anyone know how to sort this? ...im thinking take apart the nipple base (giggle) and put a rubber seal in before the bleed nipple base sits.

Had the same issue with both bleed nipples but tbh already had sfs coolant hoses, only bought the kit for the rest so no issues for me really

The top rad hose on mine split right next to the stat and no it wasn't the jubilee clip it was the rounded ridge of the stat that cut through, explain that one :eek:

I'm going back to SFS thanks, spent too much time at the road side cus of old rubber hoses, I don't fancy the next 6 months breaking down every other trip cus of a cheap silicone hose
