advantages of monitoring the afr
I have a pretty standard r5 gt. however i would like to see more power soon enough, i am looking at the LC-1 , buy for £150 , . I just wanted to know what kind of advantages it has to be able to monitor your afr constantly,, and also peoples experiences on the products.. thanks
Re: advantages of monitoring the afr
The idea is that you don't (have to) monitor the fuelling constantly. It's more a case of using it as reference whilst setting up your carb.
Not wise to leave the w/b probe in situ if you're not gonna be using it either.
Re: advantages of monitoring the afr
that makes sence , so basically am i right in saying it allows you to do what a garage does when they setup your carb , but obviously rather than a huge probe shoved in the exhaust , you can monitor it in the car, so therefore can check how the fueling is affected when your on boost etc and adjust accordingly.

Is that because they are known to breakdown in the heat pretty quickly?
Re: advantages of monitoring the afr
If they're (heating element) not powered up, then yep, the hot exhaust gas will damage the O2 sensor.
The eventual carbon soot build-up around the sensor head won't be doing it any favours either.

Innovate LM-1 fella you can't go wrong:)
Re: advantages of monitoring the afr
Sweet, now this may sound daft , but is setting up your AFR, to meet your boost levels easy enough todo once you can monitor them, or is this something that's considered quite a art and best left to the people that have been doing it a while.
