Renault World Series Nurburgring, September 18th-20th & Ring Jolly
Millie & I are currently mulling over the idea of the going to one of the Renault World Series's in France or Germany as well as the one in the UK. Anyone else interested in going??
The French one :francais: is going to be at Le Mans on July 18th - 19th (only 2 weeks after the UK one :ujack:) :crap: and the German one is at the Nurburgring on September 19th - 20th.
Looking at the proximity of the events I guess a trip to the Nurburgring might be a better option? However I did think that it would be nice for us to re-pay the french lads with a visit to one of their events as they came all the way to our ND last year??
I've been in touch with Renault Heritage & the Renault Alpine Owners Club & found out that apparently Renault have fallen out with the people who organise the German event so as a result they do not officially support it with their Histoire & Collection Team?! I don't think this would be too much of a problem but wanted to let you all know up front.
Our plan is to take my car and exhibit it at the event rather than just go as a visitor?

Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)
Not bothered about the Le mans one if it is only 2 weeks after the uk. But id be up for Germany in september, we could maybe hang around for a day or so and get some laps in while we are there :burnrubber: :D

Yeah Millie & i would certainly be up for a hanging around a bit longer & taking in more of Germany than a quick dash round the ring!! German Beer & Sausages for the WIN!! :D

Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)
Sounds good :agree: last time went out, my and my mate visited Cologne (Koln). Only a 45 mins journey from where we stayed, and beats hanging around nurburgring when it was closed. Dont walk up the Cathedral though after you had a night drinking, you get rather dizzy with the 509 steps in a spiral staircase.

Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)
If it's Germany, count me in.

Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)

Friday 18th 14:15 - 19:30
Saturday 19th 13:30 - 19:30
Sunday 20th 08:00 - 19:30
I would be up for germany :agree:

Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)
It would appear that this idea of mine is gathering pace somewhat now?? :agree:
Right then i think rather than being at the mercy of the RAOC club i'll see if i can get in touch with the person who is running the WSR German event & see if we can guarantee ourselves some exhibition passes for the event...... so make sure you're all looking to take your Renaults.... :scared:

Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)
Chris, what was the name of the hotel we stopped in when we went last May? I thought that was spot on for the price. Is that one of the ones you've emailed?

Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)
I think we are gunna have to be quick in deciding on and booking a hotel, ive just been having a quick look in my lunch hour and very few hotels within 30miles or so of the 'ring have got more than 1 or 2 rooms available for the RWS weekend!!

Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)
Ive just got some quotes on the ferry from Hull-Rotterdam, it's a good option for those in the north or on the east of the country. It'll be £250 per car with a 2 or 4 bed cabin. So if you have 4 in your car it's only £62.50each. so far 4 cars
Me and Louise
Jaffa and Miller
Brose
Lomo and misses
are all definites for this and will be booking in the next few weeks. Leaving thursday 17th (arrive in rotterdam friday 8am) and return monday 21st (arriving back tuesday morning) If anybody else wants to do the overnight on the north sea ferry let me know and ill add it to the group booking.
Could do with some hotel options exshoppers.

Thank Duncain for looking into this...
TBH last time alot of us went via Norfolklingand i have to say i felt it was much better than P&O and alot cheaper than Eurotunnel.
The ferry was top class & no long cue for food etc. So for me Norfolkline gets the :agree:

Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)
OK let me just update you on what i've been up to?!
Millie & I have booked to stay at the Hotel Reider for Fri - Sun (depart Sunday) through Booking.com. Click HERE for a link to the website.
That hotel is just 3.4km from the Ring and charging €160 TOTAL for a double room for that weekend so a bit of a WIN!! :agree:
As it stands at the moment I believe Mart & Duncan Grier have booked to stay at the same hotel through booking.com. Thankfully when you book through Booking.com you can cancel your hotel room right up to the day before you arrive so if plans do change you don't lose your money!! :niceone:
We are booked onto the Norfolkline ferry on Friday 18th September 2009 at 6:00am and paying only £17.50 for that crossing  so it's pretty cheap!!
Millie & I are going to stay in Germany for a few days after the event & visit the Frankfurt Motor Show (which is on whilst we're over there) and also take a peek at the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen (lifetimes wish!) so we're not coming back home till Wednesday 23rd but there's plenty of choice of cheap ferries on Norfolkline.com so it's your choice when you come home.
As Penfold has mentioned earlier in this thread the Nordschleife is also open that weekend so if any of you wannabe ringers want to grab a few cheeky laps whilst you're over their for the weekend you can do so :smokin:
Opening times
Friday 18th 14:15 - 19:30
Saturday 19th 13:30 - 19:30
Sunday 20th 08:00 - 19:30
I have e-mailed the D'ARC again (who are organising the event) and confirmed that we are definately going over to the show so definately need access to tickets. I am planning to exhibit my Raider in collectors area for the whole weekend and attend the Gala Evening (if they have such a thing) on the Saturday evening. If anyone else is interested in doing this then let me know & I shall let you have a copy of the relavent application forms when I get them??
-
Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)
Aii mate, Bekki & myself are also booked in at that hotel. Cheers for the headsup about it :agree: :)
If you do manage to get your car on the stand there, let me know please bruv, as if I can wangle getting my gtt on there too, I'll take that for the weekend instead of the Evo.

Breakfast is included at the hotel :) tbh if the numbers are right i think the option of the apartments are good, i have asked how the apartments are laid out, ie 1 master room, 2 double room's and 1 double pull out bed or something...
-
Re: Renault World Series Le-Mans (France) or Nurburgring (Germany)
Ok the 3 apartments are like this...
8 bedrooms, Each room has single beds
So i think that apartments are something like
Apartment 1
2 Bedrooms
Apartment 2
3 Bedrooms
Apartment 3
3 Bedrooms
So i would say 1 Double room & the other rooms are triples or 4's.... now this is fine if you dont mind sharing with the lad's, but if ur taking ur miss's perhaps not a great trip?
Open to suggestions...
